Here in Colombia, commercial coffees are basically the coffee waste produced for export that doesn't meet export standards. This waste is sometimes mixed with chemicals to improve the flavor, falling far short of the quality Colombians expect from their own coffee. That's what most of the population drinks, also known as pasilla . Although there are different types of pasilla, some better than others, it's not the real coffee the world talks about. Analyzing the situation and our dissatisfaction with it, we decided to start our own coffee brand, with the purpose of selling real coffee : completely pure, selected beans, and entirely artisanal coffee.
